Welcome to our new Vendor Spotlight series - exactly what the title suggests! We’ll be bringing you Q+A’s with the most amazing and beautiful vendors that operate right here in Perth and Western Australia.
Today we’re talking to Hayley from Hailstorm & Co.
How long have you been a photographer/videographer?
I have been a wedding photographer for 4 years and a wedding videographer for 2 years.
What is your favourite part of a wedding day?
Watching the reactions of our couples as their fiancé reads their vows and makes a promise to them for life.
Why did you choose to work on weddings?
I really enjoy meeting new people, connecting with my couples and learning their stories, then creating a beautiful keepsake for them to cherish.
How far in advance do you prefer couples to book in with you?
At least 12 months – we tend to book out early and really dislike having to tell our couples we can’t join them because we’re booked already.
Do you charge a delivery or travel fee?
Only for regions outside of Perth Metro, and only very small – to cover time, fuel and any accommodation (if required).
What’s the number one piece of advice you give to a couple when planning their wedding?
Chat with OR meet with your vendors before you book – I cannot stress this enough. THEY are the ones who will set up your day for ultimate success or failure, help to bring the vibe to the party and be by your side, authentically giving their all so you can have the best stress-free day ever.
Do you include engagement photos in your packages?
We can create a package to include an engagement photo OR video session. Our engagement video session footage will also be used in the wedding film to complete our couple’s whole love story.
How many packages do you offer?
The sky is the limit! Whilst we have general packages, we set up a time to chat with our couples (over the phone or in person) to listen to their requests and work out what they want/need and offer a few different options. This ensures they get exactly what they want/need in their package without having to pay for extras they will never watch.
Do you offer a second shooter?
A second shooter can be added onto all packages, if we think they are needed or if our couples request one.
How would you describe your photography style?
Candid, laidback & definitely romantic. We strive to capture the genuine moments between our couples, their families and their guests. We want our couples watching their films / photos to remember the day for exactly how it was!
