From the amazing Mitch & Tijana, the conclusion of Matt + Ivonne’s dream day follows their bridal shoot through Perth City, King’s Park and Elizabeth Quay, before hosting their reception at the beautiful Beaumonde on the Point, overlooking the Swan.

What was your favourite part of the day?
The whole day was magical but the ceremony was one of both our favourite parts of the day. We had picked a bridal entrance song that meant something to both of us and although it played without the lyrics, it was so emotional seeing each other to that song. We were both so happy and excited to get married we couldn't stop smiling at each other throughout the ceremony. Father Francis turned all our mistakes to laughing events. This included our early first kiss and having to redo it.
Do you have any advice for other couples ahead of their dream day?
Even if it’s not a honey moon, book some down time after the wedding. We were both so busy and didn't realise we would be, leading up to the wedding that afterwards we were relieved there was no more to plan. Due to Covid and work, we only had the week off together but it so nice to continue those just married feels in Margaret River.
What’s one thing you wish you knew before planning a wedding?
Covid brought so many uncertainties that we had to choose vendors we felt we could share everything we wanted with. We then had to let go and trust they would do the best to meet what we wanted. We had amazing vendors and they were all so open with what was happening.
What does marriage mean to you?
It means choosing your person to do life with and having your best friend by your side forever, supporting and growing with each other through the good and the hard times.
Do you have any funny stories from the day?
It took way too long for us to bustle my dress that even though we scheduled 20 minutes to do it, the reception entrance was delayed. I was so nervous because without it done right we wouldn't be able to do our first dance as planned. As soon as we walked in, Matt stood on the back of my dress (he denies this but we have it on video), ripping a hook. The staff at Beaumonde on the Point were so lovely and found us safety pins and my bridesmaids spent time again pinning it up. We honestly had so many little things go wrong but focusing on each other, we hardly noticed.
Did Covid affect your wedding day at all?
We were very lucky but there was uncertainty on whether our family and friends from interstate and overseas could come. Our numbers were constantly changing due to border restrictions. We chose a venue that could expand the room and chose to hire a few larger tables in between the standard tables so that last minute changes could be accommodated.
