4 things to think about before booking a venue

Before picking the spot where you will begin your happily ever after, you want to make sure you are asking all the right questions and trusting your instincts when it comes to your venue visits. Follow these points and you'll find the venue of your dreams, without the stress ✔️

YOUR BUDGET SHOULD DRIVE YOUR DECISION

It’s no use visiting a venue that is going to cost you $200 per person, if you can only afford to pay $120 per person. No brainer right there. Find venues that sit within your budget range to avoid the heartache of falling in love with one that isn’t even an option.

PAY ATTENTION TO THE DETAILS

How close are the toilets to the reception area? Is there enough space to create aisles and pathways throughout the venue for people to get around easily? Think about how you would design the space - furniture placement and decor and then imagine the number of guests you are going to have in that space. You don’t want to have a small number of people in a HUGE space, or lots of people in a very small, cramped area.

KNOW THE REAL COSTS

Do you know the difference between a DIY venue and an all-inclusive? While a DIY venue may look cheaper at the beginning, this generally means you have to bring every single item into the space yourself. Lots of these items are already included in your all-inclusive venue so make sure you list out true costs before deciding on your type of venue.

PRIORITISE WHAT MATTERS

What worked for others may not work for you. Do your research, and make sure you visit your short list of venues to get a better idea of how the space looks in real life. No venue is perfect (but many come close!), so if there are certain cons to venues, decide what matters most to you and go from there.
